Deaf Education: Learning from the past as we move toward the future

A Research Project
Most undergraduates don't have to write a thesis like this, but it was a graduation requirement of the Honors Program that I was a part of. Going back and reading this some 13+ years later, I can admit that it could use some editing. However, I'm proud of this piece.
I'm proud of how original my topic was and that it reflects a genuine interest of mine (still). I'm proud of the research that went into it. I'm proud of the grant I secured to further my education in American Sign Language as I engaged with the culture I was writing about. I'm proud of the interviews I conducted and everything that went into the process of getting them approved by the IRB. This thesis was a labor of love, and while I could and would improve on it as the writer I am today, that doesn't negate this accomplishment for me.
I believe it is a glimpse into my work ethic - which has only grown since then; and my writing style - which has only improved since then. Published and presented in 2012 - enjoy my undergraduate thesis!
